Learn to draw and paint with weekly classes or come to use the space
Service Description
Looking for a studio space to draw, paint, create, but you can't commit to a weekly course? In this drop in class you can come when you are able. Classes will meet once per week for 1.5 hours. Students will learn: • How to recognize and organize 2-D shapes on the paper or canvas through their relationship to each other, • How to turn 2-D shapes into simple 3-D forms line and shading, then crafting the different simple forms together to create complex forms, • How to use a diversity of tools and materials, • How to create space and depth within a 2-D surface, • How to mix colors and basic color theory, • An awareness of movement and rhythm within the subject and between the elements, • How to use the elements and principles of design to create aesthetically pleasing compositions • That practicing is important and fundamental to growth as an artist. Supply List: Sketch book 9x12 or larger Pencils set HB, B, 2B, 4B, 6B Vine charcoal Erasers white plastic and kneaded Acrylic paint (cadmium red light, Alizarin red, Cadmium yellow lemon, Cadmium yellow medium, Ultramarine blue, Cobalt blue, Titanium white) Palette knife Paper palette (gray) or stay wet palette Brushes (filbert 6 and 8, round 2, flat 6 and 8) Canvases 8x10 Container for water Retarder/extender Heavy body gel medium semi-gloss Paper towels If this sounds like an experience you’d like to pursue, sign up today as space is limited.
